New blog

So there's this new blog that just started a couple days ago. I was going to leave a comment but I can't get to a page that lets me CREATE a login to let me login to leave a comment. So I figured I'd be tricky and do a trackback and see if he notices.

And then if he does let's see if he can figure out who I am :)

Pop hits in the year I graduated

I got this from Mitch who got it from Sheila who got it from Michele who got it from Johnny Bacardi who got it from Wilwork's LJ

A. Go to http://www.musicoutfitters.com.
B. Enter the year you graduated from high school in the search function.
C. Bold for the songs you like, strike through the ones you hate and underline your favorite. Do nothing to the ones you don't remember (or don't care about).

Most of the ones I didn't do anything to, it wasn't because I don't LIKE them, I'm just sick of them since I listened to an all 80's station a lot while it was still on the air in Minneapolis.

Blogging about work Pt. 2

So on the day before my last day, I scoured our CRM system for email addresses of all the customers I loved talking to, and sent them home. In the evening of my last day there, I sent 49 people the following email.

Blogging about work

Not a good idea as we all know.

Guess what? I GOT LET GO A MONTH AGO!!!

So I'm gonna blog about work.

My peer coworkers were the god damned BEST bunch of coworkers I've ever ever had. They're all awesome

The management politics and blinders and ego and sensitive egos are amazing. It was an eye opener working there and talking to people who were in the gossip circle and heard the good dirt.

Sometimes I wonder just how in the hell the stupidest, most unpragmatic people (like, sometimes, SALESPEOPLE) achieve management levels in the company, and those of us with a good head on our shoulders are always stuck at the bottom of the shit pile (IT/Tech workers, usually)

*insert Howard Deaniac meltdown scream here*

I start Monday at a company that makes yearbooks and class rings. I will be a short term contract, working in a crush to get all their remote salespeople's laptops upgraded from 2K to XP. There will be some phone support but there will be some hands on too. The guy I interviewed with told me that he'd probably have me concentrate more on the laptops that get sent to them for upgrading. Yay!

Not like it will be difficult. He said they send them a DVD with an XP image on it. They dump their save data to a removeable backup device, boot to the DVD, it lays down a new image, and then they restore from the backup device and away it goes.

Only thing is they all own their laptops and therefore are all local administrators. And we all know what happens when you give sales people local admin rights, don't we....

Liar Liar, Pants on Fi-ar

I wish there was a way to sue senators for lying about their party affiliation.

John McCain is NOT a Republican. He's a pro-military Democrat.

Oh well, he signed his political death warrant. I just wish it wouldn't have screwed up so much for all the rest of us.

HI EMILY!!!

Cousin, that is. Not daughter.

I spent almost 6 weeks downloading a 35 GIG collection of every Simpson's episode from seasons 1-15. I'm burning it to a set of DVD's for a friend. I've done 6. Got 2 more after this one. I promised him I'd get it done tonight so I could mail it tomorrow. I WANT TO GO TO BED!

Too long since last update, too late to update

It's too late to do much of anything now, but I leave you with this.
Someone on Michelle Malkin's page about this came up with a great idea: Find the address that belongs to this waste of human pissflap skin, and send her three birthday cards every year to remind her of her two sons that she murdered.

Goodnight Emily and Alex. I love you two.

*shakes head*

6/14/2004

It's been a long time, been a long time, been a long lonely lonely time

Since I've updated this. I shall describe thus which is vertically enhanced:

Reagan's California Funeral. My remarks.

It DIDN'T RAIN today and it WASN'T HOT OR COLD! Looks like this is turning out to be the best weather week so far this year. Now if I had more time from when I kick my lazy tired ass out of bed til I get to work, I MIGHT be able to ride the bike and not be incredibly late.

Kids are in bed, wife isn't tired, she's taking advantage of this fact for some few and far between Playstation 2 time, while I am working on a computer that belongs to a friend of a coworker. It's a Piece of crap. It's an e-Machine (gads), Cyrix M-II 333 (AAAAAIIIIIIIIYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEE) running Windows 98 *GAG* with a failing hard drive. My coworker says that she can't afford anything better and will probably use it to sell pot on the internet. If I were a strong devout Christian, I wouldn't help her. Oh well.

3.25 hours of sleep wasn't enough

GAH!!!

Hugh Hewitt's recommendations

Hugh has a list of 20 blogs that he considers "must reads". I'm only deeply in tune with one of them, and vaguely familiar with about 5 of them from quick skims and hearing Hugh talk about them on the radio.

SOMEday, I'll be able to sit down and read a ton of stuff that I should have read by now. Looks like Labor Day.

6/03/2004

Cool

My buddy, storm, on the chatroom I am part of, has his own blog too, about "weight lifting and martial arts - documenting what a rank newbie goes thru." He'll be here tomorrow with his wife and kidlet for a visit all weekend. If things work out properly, I'm giving his wife a ride on my motorcycle. She's tiny. It'll almost be like riding alone. I suppose I should go out tonight and figure out how to crank up the preload on the shock to deal with the extra weight. When I gave my cousin a ride (11th grade girl), the back of the bike dropped down quite a bit.

6/02/2004

4 hours of sleep wasn't enough

I need a nap. Maybe my tiredness is what's causing me to not understand how a humane thinking person could stand to let this barbaric atrocity to continue to be legal. What boggles my mind even further is how anyone who is a parent can agree with it.

The judiciary in this country is out of control. Fukrs.

5/30/2004

So how the hell do I....

....make a column of sites I want to link to on the side of the page (I believe it is called a blogroll?)

We're gonna get two of these for the trip to California next Feb.

Baby seat carrier.

AS opposed to paying $35/week each for two carseats from the rental car place.

Waiting for Alex to fall asleep....

Kim is planning on taking the kids out to her parents for labor day weekend while I stay here and bachelor it. If she leaves on Friday, that gives me all day Friday to goof off, Saturday I'll be productive and Sunday I'll goof off. Then I can do my usual frantic last minute chore frenzy before she gets home at about 7 in the evening Monday. One of my goof off days will be spent exclusively reading blog after blog after blog, just following links at random and seeing what I find.

5/29/2004

Well, crap! That sucks!

I just realized something very very very bad this evening while I was cuddling with Emily before her bedtime.

When we move her bedroom to her new bedroom, the swing reclining rocker is going to stay in her old room which will become Alex's room. This means I can't cuddle with her anymore unless we go in there when Alex is asleep and listen to music quietly so as not to wake him up.

Shit.

Potty Training

My daughter is apologizing to the potty for some resaon :)

TODAY YAY

So we primed the soon-to-be-Emily's-bedroom room today.

I need to take a shower.
